RIDER SPOTLIGHT

Name:
Chauncey Vieira

Age:
19

Hometown:
Its a small one, Tyngsboro MA

Team Affiliation:
Core6. You can check us out at core6.net. I am also making many guest appearances with Triple Xtreme you can check them out at TripleXtreme.net.

Years Riding:
Well I grew up riding 4 wheelers and dirt bikes. I got started riding streetbikes at the young age of 14 on a CBR 600. I grew out of that bike in just months, then moved on to a ZX7. The Kawasaki only lasted a year to be replaced by an R1(so yes I was that kid that everyone knows with a mustang and an R1 but thank god that thing only lasted a year). Currently, and for the past 2 years, I am a proud owner of a CBR 900RR, but I can't wait to replace it!

Who influenced you the most in your riding:
My oldest brother is responsible for making this whole thing happen. When Core6 gets together things get really ugly, we push each other really hard. I was always the young kid so I looked up to everyone. I always had this dream to be one of the best riders in the world that is what pushes me to ride so hard everyday.

Accomplishments:
Placed 2nd nationally in the XSBA in the '02 season. I have made many appearances in magazines such as Asphalt, Super Streetbike, Street Style, Street and Strip, and there's probably a hand full of others that I have forgotten. I have also made many video appearances such as DTE 1, DTE 2, Road Rage 2, XSBA 110%, Judgment Day 1 and 2, D-Tour, and Urban Street Bike Warriors. I have also done hundreds of shows all over the United States and made appearances in Jamaica, Curacao, Aruba, Barbados, St Lucia, and Trinidad. Just recently I was featured in a movie as Taft Hartly and I am SAG eligible and looking forward to getting involved with more TV shows and movies.

Favorite Trick:
Low altitude high speed fly by's

Best Crash Story:
XSBA Pocono PA, after qualifying first, a few of the riders and myself were asked to ride in an intermission show to keep the crowd entertained for a few minutes. I already had my gear on so I went right out to the track. I came around the pit wall and shifted into 4th gear doing about 70 mph and grabbed a fist full of front brake. The rear tire lifted off the track and I rolled about 200ft and bang next thing I remember was getting into the ambulance. They took me straight to the hospital and cleaned me up. After the doctor stitched my knee back together I was on my way back to the track. I arrived just as my name was being called for the final round, so I threw a new pair of jeans on because the first pair didn't make it through the crash. I grabbed my gear and rode as hard as I physically could to take 2nd in the competition.
